Limited grading guide
Make your own Limited set review
A set review is more useful when you can remember why you gave a card its grade. Use myLimitedGrades to record your first impressions of a set, then revisit the cards that surprised you after playing. This is a guide to building your review, not a ranked list of the set’s best cards.
Start with a few cards
You do not have to finish the entire set. Try five Reality Fracture cards, or choose another set and filter to a color or rarity you want to review. The list represents the supported Arena Limited pool; check its card-pool details if you are preparing for a paper event.
Use the same question for each normal grade: how happy would I be to play this in a typical deck that can cast it? The grading guide explains the F-to-A+ scale. You can change your mind later.
Write down the assumption behind your grade
Sign in to save private notes. Open Personal notes in Quick Grade or the note section on the card’s page. A short question is enough: does this need a lot of creatures, is the mana cost awkward, or will it still be useful late in a game? For cards with multiple spells or faces, read all of the card text before deciding.
When a card needs a particular deck to shine, use the optional build-around grade to record that separately. Your normal grade and its supported-deck grade do not have to agree.
Make your own call before comparing
If you want an independent first impression, sign in and use the set’s blind-grading controls to hide community grades and benchmarks. You can reveal them when you are ready. Community averages only appear once enough eligible people have contributed.
Benchmarks depend on eligible published datasets and may be unavailable for new sets or individual cards. Where available, they are calculated by myLimitedGrades from public 17Lands game data. They are not official 17Lands grades or an objective answer to every draft pick. Read how the benchmarks are calculated.
Revisit your review after a draft
Open My Grades, select the set you reviewed, and look back at your notes. Which assumptions held up? Which cards needed more support than you expected? Update the evaluations that changed, and keep a note of what you learned.
You can grade without an account. Guest grades stay in this browser for up to 30 days. Sign in on the same browser before they expire to bring them to your account, or export them from My Grades. Personal notes require an account and remain private.
